SERRA HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1959 REUNION 1984
Hardin Hardin shares photo he took at our Junipero Serra High School Class of ‘59 25th Reunion in 1984. If not, here is a copy. Dave Myerscough is clearly visible in the second row left, the one with the great smile, red tie and white pocket square.
You may not have heard, but It was the “talk of the reunion” that Dave had done so well at Xerox that he and Pinkie had the use of one of the Xerox Corporate Jets for the trip from the East Coast and that they also arranged to touch down along the way to pick up another of our classmates, Jim Leslie (standing far right, gray suit stripped tie) and his wife, in Philadelphia. Dave’s obvious achievements were a source of pride for us all.
All the best,
Chuck Agozino and Hannah Hardin
Dave probably went to Serra because his brother Don went there- plus his Mom Florence was quite religious and I am sure that is what she wanted. Don and Dave both played football for Serra. Today most football teams have jerseys that are numbered to reflect their positions. Not sure what happened in Daves case as he was a center and his number was 31 which usually was for a running back. I told him that it was so long ago that they probably just had numbers 1 to 31 and he ended up 31. John Brennan , Chuck Agozino and Scott Altenberg from Serra came to the hospital and presented him with Number 31. Dave returned to his old self talking about all his friends like Jim Leslie, Nate Hardy and many more. These guys brought Dave back full-cyle to his football days- it was very moving just watching and listening. Dave was proud of his old high school class- and rightfully so as their class of 119 was probably the most successful graduating class in history- He heard from most of them- including scholars, company presidents, professors, lawyers, professional ball players and business owners. He missed his 50th reunion due to his surgery but his old school buddies came thru for him.
